My mom found these and I love them - hand-forged iron escutcheons (I had to look this word up - “a protective or decorative plate, flange, or shield used to cover gaps where pipes, conduits, or keyholes pass through surfaces like walls, doors, or furniture”)in classic if slightly gothic motifs. Imagine one of these on a dresser drawer pull 😍
